Description
This is a reproduction of a talisman design found in the "Key of Solomon", a grimoire of ceremonial magic attributed to King Solomon. Containing influences of Hermetic alchemy, Roman Astrology and Kabbalah, Solomon's magic is a cornerstone of the Western Esoteric occult tradition. The grimoire explains: "It is good for use at night when thou invokest the Spirits of the nature of Saturn." The nature of Saturn is of time, stasis, death and perseverance. Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, a ceremonial magician and editor of the most common edition of the book, further describes: "The characters at the ends of the rays of the Mystic Wheel are Magical Characters of Saturn. Surrounding it are the Names of the Angels: Omeliel, Anachiel, Arauchiah, and Anazachia, written in Hebrew."
