This bracelet is made with a thinner stainless steel band because thick stainless steel will not bend. We have tested different thicknesses and base on our customers request to make a more bendable design we found this thickness is bendable and great quality. This bracelet is not ENGRAVED. We etched this bracelet because stainless steel is so shiny that the dark grey text is readable. If this bracelet was engraved it is not better because you cannot read it because it reflects all the environment around it. If you were to engrave it and fill it with black epoxy all the epoxy will pop out when you bend it or bang it. That is why we etched it as dark as possible which is a dark grey color. Etching is not paint... Etching is a micro scratching of the surface which is will not come off unless it is buffed off with something abrasive over time.
